Friday, 14th November
Rubaru: Childrens Day Book Reading – Asha Nehemiah is one of the best children’s author and story tellers in the country! Just for that reason you should take your child to this special Children’s Day book reading by her. This series of book reading and interaction sessions called Rubaru, have been organized by Katharangam. Shreya Biswas who is another renowned storyteller will also be there at this first session in a series. Children above 4yrs and all parents and story/book lovers are welcome. Kydz Adda Childrens Day – Another fun filled event for kids is the Kydz Adda Childrens Day fest. Take your little ones there for a whole lot of fun playing games from yesteryears. There is a huge indoor soft play area where kids can play safely. There will be games like balloon shooting, ring the object and lots of finger licking food and snacks. Anjana Padmanabhan live on Children’s Day – Anjana Padmanabhan was the winner of Indian Idol Junior, Season 1, at the age of 10. She is going to be singing at this musical evening between 8 pm and 9 pm. There are a series of classical, hindi, regional music and dance performances lined up for the evening. There is a Classical Vocal Concert by Dattaprasad Avdhoot, accompanied by Mrudangam and Violin. Classical Violin Concert by Sumanth Manjunath, accompanied by Mrudangam. The last part of the evening will be a classical dance ensemble by Nrityakalamandiram Kids Group. 7:30 pm to 10:30 pm, Phoenix MarketCity, Whitefield.
Kids Day at Bengaluru Baking Company – To treat yourself and your kids to a sweet treat, head to JW Marriott this weekend. The Bengaluru Baking Company is making some melt-in-the-mouth desserts that will be specially baked for this day. Children can pick from a choice of cheesecakes, Red Velvet and Dark Truffle Cake or drink some Toblerone Nougat and Oreo milk shake made by Chef Daniel. Saturday, 15th November
Loud Whispers: Interactive Plays for Children – Your Truly theater comes up with unique interactive plays and theatre sessions. This Saturday on Children’s day, they will present interactive plays for children and all others who are young at heart. It will be a performance with a series of short stories based on real life incidents. Kids can suggest the ending for each story and then the actors will perform the suggestion impromptu. Suitable for kids over 3 years of age. 2 shows – 3:00 pm and 5:30 pm, Yours Truly ALMA, CMH Road, Indiranagar.
Kids Day Out Flea Market – To celebrate Children’s Day for two straight days, head to Inorbit Mall on Saturday and Sunday this weekend. There will be a carnival like atmosphere at the Kids Flea Market. There will be jugglers, face painting, horse riding, puppet shows, magic tricks and even an art and painting workshop. There will also be a big bouncy castle and joy rides. Food options will include cupcakes and ice cream and lots of things that children like. Grown ups can also have their share of fun and things to do at the mall. Suitable for age groups 2 and above. 1:00 pm to 11:00 pm, Inorbit Mall, Whitefield.
Our Iceberg is Melting – BLT, Bangalore Little Theatre presents this musical “Our Iceberg is Melting” in support of The Association for The Mentally Challenged. It has been adapted from a book by the same name. The book authored by John Kotter is a management parable about how a group of young penguin realise that their home (an iceberg) is changing. The older penguins are in denial but the young penguins use the 8 principles of management planning to save their families. The play is designed and directed by Amjad Prawej. The play is suitable for over 8 years of age. Multiple shows on multiple dates from Nov 14th to Nov 30th, Multiple venues.
The Third Fret: Kids Rock – Take your kids for some music and fun to see the The Third Fret perform at Atta Galatta. It is a rock and pop band which comprises of 11 children who are aged between 9 to 14 years. They will be live in concert to celebrate 2 years of performing. So come to listen to some music, grab a snack at the venue’s cute little cafe and chill out. 6:00 pm, Atta Galatta, Koramangala.
Kutoohala Children’s Day Special – On Children’s Day, Kutoohala is holding an event called “Art for Little Hands”. This is to let children express their creativity through art. It will be an hour long session to explore a few art techniques. Parents are encouraged to participate in this program with their children. The fees with all materials included is Rs 200/-. 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm, Kutoohala, Basavanagudi.
Sunday, 16th November
Nature Journey Kids Carnival – Spend your Sunday with family and friends in a beautiful open area and a whole lot of activities. Go to Ramee Guestline Hotel and enjoy the Kids carnival with activities like Ziplining, Zorbing, Archery, Shooting. There will be a trampouline for the kids to jump on, a water scooter, a fancy dress competition and lot of other games. There will be food stalls with options for kids and grown ups.
