Here are some upcoming photography events in Bangalore to choose from.

Level 1 Workshop – Photography for Beginners – This workshop organized by Darter Photography introduces you to the technical, artistic and social aspects of photography with this workshop. It is suitable for beginners. You will be need to bring a digital camera to the workshop. An advanced camera or an SLR is NOT a prerequisite. You will learn about the concepts of photography, what the different modes of a camera mean, how to compose a photograph so that it catches the eye, how to post-process it to reflect reality or make it artistic. There will be a guided field session at Lalbagh on day 2 of the workshop. On 11 – 12 April, Sat & Sun, Nandhana Grand Hotel, Koramangala. Charges – Rs 6000/- per person. 

Photography and Post processing Workshop – This two day workshop organized by Sudhir Shivaram whose images are frequently featured in various magazines including National Geographic, Sanctuary Asia and others, will take you through 4 key components without which your photography is incomplete. As part of the workshop, 3 of your images will be reviewed and critiqued to enable better understanding of the 15 different things you need to take care of. The workshop will help budding and entry level photographers understand the core fundamental concepts of photography along with an overview of advanced concepts. It includes a field outing on day 2 to practice the concepts learnt on day 1. A DSLR is preferable, but a point & shoot will also do. On 11 – 12 April, Sat & Sun, Park Plaza, Bangalore. Rs 7,000/- for Basics & Advanced Photography Workshop, Rs 4,500/- for Post Processing Workshop (Day 2 from 1:30pm to 6:30pm), Rs 11,000/- for combined package.

Wedding Photography Workshop – Weddings are beautiful occasions and must be captured via images to relive all those beautiful memories. Wedding photography demands a special training on its own. This two day workshop will cover all the main aspects of wedding photography including professionals camera settings for wedding, about camera/lenses require for wedding photography and you will also shoot a LIVE wedding with Mentor. Participants must have basic knowledge on DSLR cameras. On 28 – 29 March, Sat & Sun, Pai Viceroy, Jayanagar. Charges – Rs 6500/- 

Photography Workshop for the Hearing Impaired – Organized by an NGO GiftAbled – Creating Inspiring Transforming, this workshop is exclusively for Hearing Impairedby by expert Photographer Ravi Valdiya of Ravi Valdiya Photography. The workshop will include and introduction to photography, art of composition, different photography techniques, rules and other basics (Dos and Don’ts) and basic editing and post processing techniques amongst other things. On 22nd March, Sun, Cheshire Livelihood Resource Centre, Old Airport Road. Limited to 20 members so register as soon as possible.

International Photography Contest – Climate, State of Emergency – Fondation Alliance Française launches the fifth edition of the international photography contest : “Climat, Etat d’urgence” (Climate, state of emergency) under the patronage of Yann Arthus-Bertrand. The competition is open to any photographer (amateur and semi-professional) above 18 years of age. To participate you need to illustrate two important questions about Climate and the changes happening via two high definition photos. Deadline for submitting of pictures and registration forms is on 15th May 2015, midnight.

Mountains and Monasteries – A Photography tour of Ladakh – For wannabe travel photographers, travel bloggers and travel enthusiasts Darter Photography is organising a tour this summer, to explore the land of the mountains and the monasteries – Ladakh. It will give you an opportunity to take a lot of photographs and capture the beauty and life in Ladakh. On this trip you get to travel through some of the most scenic routes in the country, learn tips and tricks about travel and outdoor photography, get instant feedback by your mentor on the route. You need not be an expert and no previous photography experience required. You can even bring along a friend on the tour.
