Waiting (Hindi)

A movie about love, life and their complexities, subtly portrayed on screen by Anu Menon, and brilliantly so. Tara (Kalki Koechlin) is a fiercely independent woman whose life turns upside down after her husband Rajat (Arjun Mathur) meets with an accident. At the hospital, she meets Shiv, an elderly man whose wife of 40 years has been in the coma for eight months. The two strike an unlikely friendship that helps them cope with their grief. The filmmaker skillfully describes the different stages of sorrow without letting melodrama seep in. For Kalki and Naseer’s effortless performances, this movie deserves to be watched.

Ithu Namma Aalu (Tamil)

The film is said to portray the life of a happy-go-lucky-youth named Shiva (Silambarasan) an IT Professional and his fiancee Nayanthara and the girl who provides the third angle Andrea Jeremiah. All hell breaks loose when Shiva’s equation with his fiancee goes for a toss. What causes friction between the couple? Does Shiva unite with the love of his life? That forms the rest of the story. Awesome performances by the lead actors, great dialogues and the Simbu-Soori Comedy track makes the movie a good watch.
